Cedric Lamar is an actor, singer-songwriter, composer, educator, and filmmaker, and was a member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s (OSF) acting company for 6 seasons performing in numerous shows such as Hamlet, The Wiz, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Oklahoma!, and Mother Road (world premiere) to name just a few. Also at OSF, he was a co-creator and performed in a devised piece of interactive theatre designed for direct community engagement titled, Take Them Into the Dirt, toured as a teaching artist with their School Visit Program, and composed the music for OSF’s 2019 production of Alice in Wonderland. After earning his BFA in Acting from North Carolina School of the Arts, Cedric went on to perform shows at other regional theaters, including two national tours with NYC’s The Acting Company; Richard III, The Three Musketeers, and  Macbeth. Cedric released his first solo album in 2015, “Kingdoms and Tall Grass” (Spotify, iTunes, etc.), won the Waltz-Astoria Singer-Songwriter competition in 2012, and is currently one half of the indie pop duo, Family Friend. Cedric is the founder of the custom songwriting service, If My Heart Could Sing. He also directed and starred in two short films, "The Darker Brother" and "The Loving Voices", addressing his experience of being a black male in this country during unprecedented times. As a multidisciplinary artist, Cedric’s true passion is for storytelling, and ultimately finding ways to unlock empathy in one another.
